HAT YAI, 31 July 2024. The Malaysian Armed Forces Staff College (MAFSC) organised a significant visit to Prince of Songkla University (PSU) on 31 July 2024. This visit was part of the MCSCJ Serial 53/2024 programme under the course of Malaysian Security and Development Studies (MSDS) and was aimed at fostering and strengthening bilateral relations and facilitating the exchange of academic perspectives between the two institutions.
The MAFSC delegation, consisting of Course Participants from the KAJIMATAN programme, engaged in a fruitful dialogue with students from the Faculty of Liberal Arts, PSU. The discussions focused on contemporary issues, offering both sides the opportunity to gain insights into different viewpoints and academic approaches. This knowledge exchange was not only focused on intellectually stimulating but also provided valuable perspectives on current global and regional challenges.
In addition to the academic discussions, the MAFSC visitors were given a comprehensive tour of the PSU campus. They had the chance to see various faculties and facilities, gaining a deeper understanding of the university’s academic environment and infrastructure. The tour highlighted the diverse range of disciplines offered at PSU and showcased the university’s commitment towards academic excellence and innovation.
Before the student interactions and campus tour, the Commandant of MAFSC paid a formal courtesy visit to Dr. Ganda Chanyem, the Dean of the Faculty of Liberal Arts at PSU. This meeting underscored the importance of academic and cultural exchanges and set a positive tone for the subsequent engagements. Dr. Chanyem extended a warm welcome to the MAFSC delegation and the discussions with the Dean’s representative provided an opportunity to explore potential areas for collaboration and mutual benefit.
Overall, the visit was a resounding success, enhancing the relationship between MAFSC and PSU. It offered a platform for meaningful academic exchange and helped build lasting connections between the students and faculty of both institutions.
