PUTRAJAYA, 5 Aug 24: The Malaysian Command and Staff Course (Joint) Serial 53/2024 celebrated the 72nd Egypt National Day at Hikmat Hall. This celebration was held in conjunction with the National Independence Day, which is celebrated on 23rd July annually.
The celebration began with the arrival of the Commandant, Yang Berbahagia Brig Gen Zamsari bin Abu Hasan at 14300H. He was accompanied by Chief Directing Staff, Kol Sukiman bin Mohamed Ghani and Head of Training Development, Kol Tan Lai Hock RMAF.
A significant gesture in Malaysia’s relationship with Egypt was the gift of the association’s headquarters from the first President of Egypt, Gamal Abdel Nasser, in 1959. Before the establishment of the Malaysian Embassy in 1960, a Malay Association in Egypt was established in 1930. This association served as a cornerstone for the Malaysian community in Egypt.
Egyptian Course Participant for the current cohort is 𝐋𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐥 𝐌𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐟𝐚 𝐈𝐬𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐥 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐨𝐮𝐝, a Mechanized Officer with an academic qualification of Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Military Science and Diploma in Defence Management. He is still a bachelor and Lt Col Moustafa is the 1st Egyptian Course Participant to join the Malaysian Command and Staff Course (Joint).
Egypt’s National Day Celebration began with a cake-cutting ceremony from Lt Col Moustafa, and the subsequent event continued with a memento exchange.
The event concluded with Yang Berbahagia Commandant, CDS and HTD adjourning from the hall at 1525H.
