PUTRAJAYA, 29th October 2024 – The Malaysian Command and Staff Course (Joint) (MCSCJ) Serial 53/2024 gathered in Hikmat Hall to commemorate The Republic of Fiji 54th Independence Day. This auspicious event, is celebrated annually on 10th October resembles the moment when Fiji achieved their independence and sovereignty in 1970.
The ceremony was honoured with the presence of the Commandant, Head Training of Development and FM/DS, as well as current Overseas Course Participant, Maj Asaeli Lave, who represented Fiji for this course.
In a captivating presentation, the 𝐌𝐚𝐣 𝐀𝐬𝐚𝐞𝐥𝐢 𝐋𝐚𝐯𝐞 shared Fiji’s rich cultural heritage and significant history, while also highlighting the strong and enduring ties between Fiji and Malaysia. With the celebration, the total number of Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) officers who have attended MAFSC rose to 37, reflecting the close and growing defence cooperation between the two nations.
The event concluded with a ceremonial cake cutting and exchange of mementos, symbolising unity and mutual respect. The MAFSC extends its warmest wishes to Maj Asaeli Lave as he continues to represent Fiji in the prestigious course.
