PUTRAJAYA, 27th November 2024. The National Defence University of Malaysia (NDUM) was the co-organiser with Ministry of Higher Education of Malaysia for the 2024 MAGNET Programme which was held at Putrajaya Botanical Garden. The event was held in collaboration with the Putrajaya Corporation and involved 658 international students from public universities in Malaysia. The marque event commenced with the arrival of Yang Berbahagia Lt Gen Datuk Mardzuki bin Muhammad, the Vice Chancellor of NDUM who inspired all international students with his wise words.
The event included various recreational and cultural events like Explorace, traditional dance and musical instruments performances, Malay song karaoke competition and display of war dance and marching drill. The event also provided opportunity to various international students to display their culture, food and local traditions through country booths. The event was later graced by Yang Berhormat Dato’ Seri Diraja Dr. Zambry Abd Kadir, the Minister of Higher Education who motivated and distributed prizes to the award winners at the end.
The Overseas Course Participants of MAFSC also participated in the event with a total of 36 international officers were divided into 7 different teams. They outshined other students and proved their mettle in the explorace event by bagging the 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐑𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫-𝐮𝐩 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐥𝐚𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐀𝐅𝐒𝐂 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐍𝐃𝐔𝐌 𝐟𝐥𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡. The event aimed to promote camaraderie and brotherhood beyond international boundaries and it can be said with conviction that it succeeded in its objectives and achieved the desired end state.
